Never-mind the envelope mix-up, ‘Moonlight’ was not only one of the most original and modern reflection of Blackness moving forward, but also sonically the most captivating and regionally appropriate.
Last night ‘Moonlight’ director Berry Jenkins pushed DJ Candlestick & The Chopstars version of the original soundtrack including chopped and screwed versions of Michael Jackson’s “Can’t Help It” & King Kendrick’s “Alright”
